Context
DRAFTS is a programme of the Body and Space Research Lab at The Swedish School of Textiles, dedicated to practice-based enquiry in fashion and textile design. Its third edition asked what artifacts actually do inside design research — as evidence, as method, and as a form of knowledge in their own right.

The project
An online symposium held on 12 May 2022, gathering researchers and designers across institutions. Two keynote presentations introduced contrasting approaches to the subject, followed by a panel discussion and contributions from researchers and designers taking part in the wider DRAFTS exhibition.
Naima’s role
Naima co-moderated the symposium with Prof. Berit Greinke, structuring and guiding the multidisciplinary discussion around the relationship between artifact, process and knowledge production, and holding the conversation together across very different research vocabularies.
Outcome
A live session, recorded and published as part of the DRAFTS 3 programme.
